2026 is going to be a golden year for gamers. And it’s not just me saying this. Listen to BBS. And it’s only going to get crazier.
Whether you’re a new gamer or an existing one, everyone has a great opportunity to grow a gaming channel. India has one of the biggest and newest gaming audiences. And if you look at the statistics and views on big gaming channels, you can clearly see how much potential still exists in this field.
But even after having so much potential, if your videos aren’t even getting 1,000 views, then somewhere the mistake is yours. And on top of that, competition in this field is only going to increase. In fact, it has already increased a lot — something even BBS himself feels.
“Don’t even talk about competition. I’m lagging behind. I’ll have to go crazy to keep up with all the streamers who have entered now. Gaming has become insanely competitive.”
But the good thing is — you can still escape even heavy competition. And I’ll share some important points ahead that you need to understand carefully.
But first, who am I to guide you?
I’ve been consistently consuming gaming content for the last 7–8 years. And I also wanted to become a gamer just like you guys. You can see my first channel’s first video, uploaded 7 years ago. Maybe I’m one of the oldest gamers among you. Comment and tell me when you uploaded your first gaming video — I’d really like to know.
I’ve observed both new and popular gaming channels and their growth patterns. I’ve seen channels grow, fail, and even grow and then die. So I have a pretty good idea of how gaming channels actually work.
Now you might say:
“Bro, if you know so much, why haven’t you grown your own gaming channel?”
The reason is — 4–5 years ago, I was still a school student and didn’t take YouTube seriously as a creator. After that, I got busy growing my other channel. But the good news is — I’ve restarted my gaming channel, and it’s performing well.
Why 2026 Is the Best Year for Gamers
Many big games are launching this year. Even in India, several games are being developed and trending right after launch, like Kamla, Maya: A Pishachini, and more.
Looking at their success, more Indian-made games will definitely come. And internationally, massive titles are launching too — like GTA 6 and the next Resident Evil installment. These are going to be crazy popular.
Now you might say, “Bro, I don’t even have a PC or console. What’s the benefit for me?”
Even if you don’t play those games, you can create content around them — news, updates, theories, reactions. The hype around these games is already huge. It’s not necessary to upload only gameplay videos.
Understanding Gaming Audience
Three years ago, audiences mainly watched single games like Free Fire, PUBG, or GTA. But now the audience has matured. Thanks to creators like BBS, viewers are open to watching different types of games — not just PUBG or GTA.
Single-game channels have become outdated. Many struggle to even get 100 views. But creators who play different types of games are surviving well with strong viewership.
For example, Techno Gamerz uploaded a video playing a mobile game like Indian Truck Simulator, and it crossed 8 million views — which is insane.
You might say, “He has 50 million subscribers; of course he’ll get views.”
But the real factor here is audience interest — not just the creator. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a mobile gamer or a PC gamer. Yes, PC gamers are often preferred, but many mobile gamers are still getting massive views.
Audiences want two main things:
Good gameplay
Entertainment
Both require skill.
Types of Commentary
Most gamers fall into three types:
Storytellers – They build a story alongside gameplay (like Techno Gamerz).
Funny Commentators – They use humor, presence of mind, and acting (like Mythpat, The Casetoo, Shriman Legend, and Typical Gamer).
Mixed Style – More professional gameplay with entertainment (like BBS).
Which style you choose depends on what you enjoy. The main thing is — what type of gaming videos do you enjoy making?
For example, I personally enjoy playing horror games, racing games, or games like Getting Over It. So I upload those types of videos. I don’t just follow trends blindly.
You have to play according to your interest.
Types of Games That Get Views
Right now, two main formats are performing very well:
1. Challenge-Based Videos
For example:
“I Beat Every Impossible Minecraft Seed”
Extreme Lucky Block Challenge
Speedrun challenges in horror games like Granny or Kamla
Challenge videos work because:
They’re entertaining.
There’s a final result.
They keep viewers hooked till the end.
Retention stays high.
Reach increases accordingly.
2. Story-Driven Games
Especially horror games. They naturally build suspense and storyline, which keeps viewers engaged.
Competition & How to Escape It
Competition exists everywhere.
As I always say:
“Every field looks full until you claim your own space in it.”
Before Sourav Joshi went viral, vlogging already had many successful creators. If he had thought, “Who will watch me?” he might never have grown.
Similarly, if I had thought others were already dominating my niche, I might never have started.
The same applies to gaming.
There are only two ways to escape competition:
Match the quality of top creators.
Do something unique and extraordinary.
Your uniqueness could be in:
Commentary
Gameplay
Editing
Stay consistent. Try different things. Keep improving.
I’ve already made a full gaming video editing tutorial that almost 2 million people have watched. No new gamer should miss that — you’ll learn a lot.
There’s still a lot more to share, which I’ll cover in Part 2 because this video would get too long otherwise. If this video crosses 100K+ views and 1K+ comments, I’ll drop Part 2 as soon as possible.
